2022 Kona Auto Start/Stop keeps turning off. Hello Hyundai Reddit, I recently bought a 2022 Kona Limited and though everyone seems to hate the Auto Start/Stop feature I like it for the gas it saves. However sometimes when I start the car the auto stop/start off button light will be on AND the auto stop/start ON light on the dash will be on. Put the shifter in neutral when you come to a stop to keep the motor running. Then back in drive. See if that helps. Common point of failure with full-time AWD system. Engine shut off is the worst “feature” ever. A lot of newer vehicles have a feature where the engine shuts off when you come to complete stop, kind of like a golf cart. This feature was designed to save fuel apparently. Has anyone tried to cross a fast moving intersection with this feature, it is horrible.
Had start stop on my 1.4 tdi 2016, and only thing i ever had to replace was the battery- agm due to ageing. I wouldn’t worry much, just keep your regular services done in time

You're not doing deliveries, and you can "make up" for the extra starting you're doing by filling the tank instead of putting $20 a pop in.
