AFAIK the game client shouldn't be using much more than 1g of memorymy client (on windows 8 64-bit) only uses up ~1.6g of RAM Since the Mac client is supposed to be pretty different from the PC client, 1gb doesn't seem like an unreasonably small amount of RAM usage. Also, many files are downloaded in a compressed format and will only be decompressed when you encounter them in-game. It saved to my download folder. i created a new folder in programs named Guild Wars 2 and moved the files there. I had to the same, click on the exe. file to start it, so i made a short cut to the exe file. When i click it, the download screen comes up and quickly switches to the start screen.
